What if Lydia's trip to Brighton never happened — and Darcy had to prove himself without a dramatic rescue?

When Kitty Bennet speaks before Brighton, the scandal is prevented. But without Lydia's elopement, Mr. Darcy loses the grand proof that might have shown Elizabeth he has changed. At Pemberley, love must be earned by patience, honesty, and smaller acts of character. A Pride and Prejudice variation.
