The Measure of Our Success is a powerful historical narrative that explores the enduring struggle for dignity, identity, unity, and self-governance in the Ifedore region of southwestern Nigeria. Through a compelling blend of oral history, archival research, community memory, and firsthand accounts, Banji Ayiloge preserves a story that might otherwise have been lost to time.

Spanning generations of leadership, political transformation, cultural resilience, and civic activism, this book examines the forces that shaped the communities of Ijare, Ilara-Mokin, Igbara-Oke, and the wider Ifedore area. At its heart is a profound exploration of how ordinary people and principled leaders confronted challenges, defended their heritage, and pursued self-determination in the face of political and social change.

More than a regional history, The Measure of Our Success is a reflection on leadership, community, justice, and the importance of preserving collective memory. It offers readers a rare window into the historical foundations of local governance, traditional institutions, and the enduring values that continue to shape generations.

Richly researched and deeply personal, this book will appeal to readers interested in African history, Nigerian politics, Yoruba heritage, leadership studies, cultural identity, and stories of community resilience.

For anyone seeking to understand how history, memory, and courage intersect to shape a people's future, this is an essential and thought-provoking read.
