Summer was supposed to be freedom. Instead, Suzanne discovers a world of strict rules and even stricter consequences.

When eighteen-year-old Suzanne Barlow visits her best friend Sandra in the secluded village of Megamar Cove, she expects lazy days and sunshine. What she finds is a community where discipline is mandatory, punishment is swift, and secrets have a way of escaping.

Sandra has kept the town's traditions hidden, fearing her city friend will flee in shock. But Suzanne does not run. She watches, she learns, and she finds herself drawn to the raw power dynamics that govern life in the Cove.

When the two friends cross a forbidden line and are discovered, they must face the judgment of the Village Elders together.

Bound, exposed, and punished before the Elders, Suzanne and Sandra discover that submission can be its own kind of freedom, and that some summers change everything.

A tale of discipline, desire, and awakening set in a town where the rules are absolute and the consequences are unforgettable.
