In an age of comfort where one must confront a quieter truth: that meaning may not lie in transcendence or the extraordinary experience, but in accepting the imperfect, “middling” life that was previously dismissed.

From an award-winning illustrated book series to a literary novel, R.S. Vern’s philosophical cat navigates a world of equally restless souls, moving from a life of comfortable “middling” dissatisfaction to finding purpose in the city’s alleys, connection in fleeting relationships, and mental salvation on an empty prairie. His search for belonging becomes a profound, meditative exploration of what it means to be truly alive in a transient world.
