The story begins when 'I' am drawn into a series of supernatural events stemming from a millennium-old curse surrounding the Wei Great Wall, all triggered by a eerie video tape filmed by an expedition team from a mysterious organisation. In search of the truth, 'I', along with my companion 'Bitter Melon Face'-whose identity remains a mystery-and others, venture deep into perilous locations such as 'the village cursed by the Great Wall', 'the corpse-rearing grounds', 'the primeval ancient mansion', ancient tombs and underwater ruins. Along the way, 'I' encounter supernatural phenomena and ancient occult arts, including 'ghost soldiers', the 'Drought Demon', 'black-scaled merfolk', 'Nine Dragons Dragging a Coffin', 'Four Symbols Sealing a Corpse' and 'Blood Jade Illusions'.
