A madcap memoir about a kitchen window leak that turned into a home repair fiasco.

Book 2 in the series, following a humorous and hopeful journey through the deep despair of home repair. It’s a love story. When Kenny and Shari’s kitchen windows sprung a leak, the couple soon found themselves sinking fast in the half-a-trillion-dollar home repair industry. Over the next five calendar years, the Rudolph’s would embark on an unforgettable journey as castaways in their own home.

The Abandon House three-book series chronicles the Rudolph’s’ battle with robot insurance bandits, come-and-go contractors, COVID shutdowns shared with essential-service-strangers trying—and failing—to fix the leaks, and invasions by waves of pirates masquerading as licensed restoration experts.

Readers share that it is more than just a chronicle of repairs gone wrong. It’s a celebration of perseverance, partnership, and finding light in the darkest (and dampest) corners of life. A must-read for anyone who enjoys true stories told with humor. It is a delightful, funny, and deeply human read. The author turns a personal fiasco into something that is both laugh-out-loud funny and reflective, and readers will find themselves cheering for more.
