The Black Button
Book One The Keeper Series

Some children inherit stories.

Some inherit secrets.

Winny inherited something far more dangerous than secrets

Hidden deep within an ancient forest, where the world hums with quiet magic and time moves a little differently, stands a cottage that has been waiting… longer than anyone remembers.

Winny has always felt it — the pull of something she doesn't fully understand. A knowing. A connection. A sense that her life was never going to be ordinary.

She is right.

Because beneath the quiet routines of cottage life, something old is stirring.

Something watching.

Something waiting to choose.

At the heart of it all lies a small, unassuming object — a button.

But it is not just a button.

It is a stone.

A power.

A legacy passed down through generations of Keepers… and it has its own will.

As Winny begins to uncover the truth about her family, the forest, and the role she was born into, she must navigate grief, loyalty, and the uneasy realisation that not everyone who comes close can be trusted.

Because power does not arrive quietly.

And once chosen… there is no turning back.

The Black Button is a story of inheritance, identity, and the quiet moment when a child realises they are standing on the edge of something far bigger than themselves.

Perfect for readers who love immersive worlds, layered family stories, and a slow-burning sense of magic that lingers long after the final page.
