They believed he was worth three hundred million dollars. He never said he was.

Tarik Freitekh was born in Jerusalem, in the shadow of a landmark building that carried his family's name. He grew up between checkpoints and cinemas, was carried from Jordan to Australia to a motel in America, and clawed his way into Hollywood — directing some of the biggest artists in the world. And somewhere along the way, the internet decided he was a billionaire.

He didn't correct it. The number opened doors. Celebrities took his calls. Billionaires wanted him in their towers. A famous page set his face beside the word billionaire and eight million people simply believed it. A story became a headline, a headline became a fact, a fact became a reputation — and the reputation became reality.

Then the same number that built his life was entered as evidence against it. A pet tiger became proof of a fortune. A photo with a pop star became proof of a flight risk. And a man who could not afford a car stood accused of a multimillion-dollar fraud.

BELIEVED is the true story of what happens when the image people believe becomes more powerful than the truth — and what a person is actually worth when every number is stripped away.
