The Everlasting Man (1925) is G. K. Chesterton's response to H. G. Wells's Outline of History. Part I argues that man is not merely a higher animal but a being of a wholly different order; Part II argues that Christ is not merely a higher man but a being of a wholly different order. C. S. Lewis later named the book as the single text that did most to dissolve his atheism.
