The creek is dry. The raccoons are organized. And Rowan Hale is the only one listening.

After fifteen years away, wildlife consultant Rowan Hale returns to Briar Hollow with a simple plan: sell her late mother’s house and get out. But the town she left behind has changed. The creek that defined her childhood has fallen silent, and a strange "wildlife crisis" has the town council calling for traps.

Rowan knows that animals don't act out without a reason. When she discovers a three-legged stray dog and a suspiciously sealed culvert, she realizes the town’s problems aren't caused by nature—they're caused by greed.

Up against a powerful developer and a town council looking for a quick fix, Rowan must decide if she’s just passing through, or if Briar Hollow is worth fighting for.

Perfect for fans of small-town mysteries and heartwarming animal stories. Book 1 of the Briar Hollow series.
