Arthur Mason Tippetts Jackson was a British Indian Civil Service officer and ethnographer of the Bombay Presidency. Murdered in 1909 by an Indian revolutionary, he left behind a substantial body of ethnographic notes on the folklore of the Bombay region. *Folk-Lore Notes, Volume 2: Konkan* gathers his observations on the customs, beliefs, festivals, and oral lore of the Konkan coast.
