Emilia Reyes picked the island because no one would think to look for her there. She was wrong.

Three months of cash rentals, no social media, location services off — everything done right to disappear from the man a restraining order can't actually stop. Then a note shows up on her door, and the careful quiet she's built starts to come apart.

Cal Tate keeps to himself. The town knows him as the Navy vet in the boathouse at the end of the docks, the one who doesn't make small talk and doesn't need anybody. But he notices the woman who sits with her back to the wall and flinches when the bell rings, because he recognizes the look. He carries his own version of it.

When a Category 3 hurricane turns toward the coast, the island empties out — and Emilia has nowhere safe to ride out the storm except with the one man she's chosen to trust. Outside, the wind is rising. Somewhere closer, so is the thing she ran from.

Some storms you board the windows against. Some you have to face.

Quiet the Storm is a grumpy-sunshine small-town romantic suspense with a protective veteran hero, a heroine learning she's allowed to be safe, and a hard-won happily ever after. A complete standalone.
