She inherited a lighthouse. She never expected to inherit a centuries-old curse.
After her mother's mysterious drowning, Isla Morgan travels to the remote Irish village of Cragmere to claim the crumbling lighthouse she never knew existed. All she wants is answers about the mother who spent a lifetime running—and maybe a fresh start away from her grief.
What she finds instead is Caspian Thorn.
Brooding, dangerous, and impossibly attractive, the selkie prince warns Isla to leave Cragmere before sunset. When she refuses, he shadows her every move, his storm-grey eyes filled with secrets and a hunger that both terrifies and thrills her. But Caspian has been lying since the moment they met—he was sent to deliver Isla to his father, the selkie king, who believes the only way to break their people's curse is with Gatekeeper blood.
The truth is darker than any fairy tale.
Three hundred years ago, Isla's ancestor cursed the selkies in an act of grief-fueled revenge, binding them to a half-life that weakens with each generation. Now Isla is the last Gatekeeper, the only one who can break the curse—or doom an entire species to extinction. But breaking it requires the one thing that seems impossible: genuine love between a Gatekeeper and a selkie.
When Isla touches Caspian's stolen seal skin to save his life, she accidentally claims him as her fated mate, binding them together for eternity. Now they're caught between duty and desire, surrounded by selkies who want Isla dead and a curse that's fracturing toward catastrophic collapse.
With only days until the spring tide, Isla must decide: trust the selkie prince who was ordered to betray her, or lose him—and everyone else—forever. Because love might be the key to breaking the curse, but it's also the most dangerous magic of all.
Perfect for fans of Nalini Singh and Grace Draven, THE GATEKEEPER'S FATE is a standalone paranormal romance featuring fated mates, a morally grey hero, found family, and a happily-ever-after worth fighting for.
