She could outrun any rider, but not her own heart.

I was born with the moon.

But they say my story truly begins

with a mortal man.

They remember me riding ahead of him,

just beyond his reach.

They say he chased me for days

and could not catch me.

What they forget

Is that I stopped

when he spoke my name.

I did not ride at a magical pace

to evade him.

I rode

to be seen.

I chose when to stop.

I chose when to speak.

I chose to love

this mortal prince, Pwyll.

Yet, a god I did not want

claimed me.

But I chose love that asked,

not love that seized.

I chose Pwyll.

And he chose me.

For him,

I freely left the Otherworld

and my life as a goddess behind.

They believe my story ends there,

protected by my prince,

happily, in love.

They are wrong.

My story is not about being saved.

It is about waking up.
