She arrived in chains. She left sovereign.
When Viking ships appear on the horizon, Astrid of Mercia — a Saxon noblewoman who has spent four years preparing for exactly this — doesn't flee. She burns the grain stores and faces her captor head-on.
Leif Eiriksson, the brooding Viking lord of Járnvík, has built an empire by taking what he wants. But the woman he pulls from the burning shore is something he has never encountered before — a captive who never stops thinking, never stops planning, and refuses to lower her gaze even in defeat.
He doesn't ransom her. He doesn't sell her. He gives her the room beside his own, tells his household she is a guest of rank, and watches as she begins — systematically, relentlessly — to understand everything about the world she's been brought to.
Understanding Járnvík means understanding him. And that is far more dangerous than any chain.
Possessed by the Viking Lord is a dark historical romance told in dual POV, following a strong-willed Saxon heroine and the alpha Viking lord who captures her — and then cannot let her go. Slow burn tension, political intrigue, blood oath ceremony, and an enemies-to-lovers arc that earns every beat.
For readers who love captor-captive romance, morally complex heroes, and heroines who conquer the conqueror.
