Family Over Fortune
Loyalty Has a Price Money Can’t Pay
Marcus Carter built the fortune his family prayed for. Now that same fortune may be the thing that tears them apart.
For years, Marcus carried the weight of survival on his back. He turned sacrifice into discipline, discipline into money, and money into a growing chain of auto shops and rental properties. To the outside world, the Carter family looks like proof that hard work pays off. They have the houses, the cars, the businesses, and the security they once only dreamed about.
But money did not heal what poverty broke.
Behind closed doors, old wounds are still open. His sister believes the family deserves more than Marcus is willing to give. His brother feels forgotten, overlooked, and pushed aside. His mother carries guilt from choices made when survival mattered more than honesty. And Marcus, the man everyone depends on, is slowly realizing that being the provider does not mean being appreciated.
When a serious family secret threatens everything Marcus has built, he is forced into the hardest decision of his life: protect the business that changed their future, or protect the family that shaped his past.
As resentment rises, loyalties shift, and buried truths come to light, Marcus must face a painful reality—family over fortune sounds noble until family becomes the reason the fortune begins to fall.
Family Over Fortune: Loyalty Has a Price Money Can’t Pay is a powerful urban family saga about ambition, sacrifice, betrayal, forgiveness, and the emotional cost of becoming the person everybody needs but no one truly understands.
Because wealth can change a family’s life.
But it cannot always save a family from itself.
